Shuji Nakamura said to promote energy-saving LED purple

This year's Nobel Prize winner in physics, one of Shuji Nakamura (University of California professor) October 8 in their creation of light-emitting diode (LED) start-ups SORAA Inc. (Fremont, California) held a press conference, said the company hopes to popularize purple LED manufacturing to reduce energy consumption, in order to solve social problems.

With the development of the blue LED Nakamura won the Nobel Prize, and the current focus is the purple LED. Purple LED can be achieved with less energy the same brightness blue LED, and therefore is expected to achieve significant energy savings. Allegedly, because of the different products in tone reflects a balanced, and therefore suitable for showpiece exhibit and other light sources.

SORAA's purple LED has been applied to the exhibition venue lighting. Plan within 3 years of sharp decline in prices, to be rapid popularity in the general lighting.
